Elk Calling Contest

There are four categories in the elk calling contest: professional (sponsored by a manufacturer), $50; adult (men or women), $25; youth (11-17), $10; and PeeWee (ages 10 and under), $10. The winner of each category will receive a trophy.

The elk calling contest is sponsored by Clearwater Drifters/The Guide Shop, Mona Vie, and Clearwater Building Inspection, LLC/Clearwater Design & Consulting.

The cost to attend both the Spring Round-Up and elk calling contest is $10 for kids (under six are free), $25 for adults, and $45 for couples and includes a great dinner, all the beverages you’d like and allows participation in all the events of the day. The elk calling contest may also be attended separately for $10.

Join over 200 people attending the events that include: Live Country Music/Cowboy Poetry/Yodeling by ‘STAMPEDE’! & ‘Rockin’ HW’ at the Lodge at River’s Edge.

The weather tends to get quite cool, as the city park is near the river. Dress warmly and be prepared. Covered areas (tables/chairs/heaters) help keep people comfortable. For more information, call 208-476-5791 or 476-7148. Your support is appreciated.

This annual event is a fundraiser, and proceeds benefit people in the Clearwater Valley by providing scholarships to four area high schools; and through the ICARE project (Cancer Assistance & Recovery Effort), which gives financial aid to people in the surrounding areas who are actively receiving treatment for cancer or other serious illnesses.

Area communities also benefit, throughout the year, with other various contributions made from the profits of the Spring Round-Up.
