Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by Clearwater County Republican Party

By Ed Galloway, Chair

The Clearwater County Republican Party hosted the annual "Lincoln Day Dinner" Saturday March 22. Approximately 150 people attended the dinner and auction to raise funds to support our candidates in their various elections this fall.

Helping with the event was the OHS government and legislature classes, for whom the Republican party raised $500 to help the students go to Boise to participate in student government affairs.  Rep. Bill Sali led the group with a moving prayer for divine guidance for our country, followed by the key note speech by Lt. Gov. Jim Risch (candidate for U.S. Senate).

Attendents included Bill Sali, 1st. District Congressman, Jim Risch and Richard Phenneger, U.S. Senate, Lee Heinrich, state Senate District 8, Rep. Ken Roberts, District 8, and Rep. Paul Shepard, District 8. The event was MC'ed by county commissioner Stan Leach, Chris Goetz for county sheriff, and Joy Hall for county commissioner District 3.

Candidates and attendees agreed concerning the importance of unity in supporting our "Platform for Life" tax restraint, and small government. We as a Party have a solid group running this election year and are looking forward to keeping Idaho and the nation on the course set by our founding fathers and our Creator. God Bless America.

The Sheriff’s wife, Carol Hengen, sang the national anthem. Good job and thanks, Carol.
