New report of fraud in the area

At least one individual in Orofino has been the subject of attempted mail fraud recently.

An Orofino resident received a next day air package from UPS with three money orders for $950 each enclosed. The package was followed up with an e-mail instructing him to cash the money orders and keep his 10% before wiring the remaining cash to and individual in Nigeria.

The company generously requested that he allow them to pay for the Western Union fee.

   The e-mail was from T&N Fabrics, tonyadams558@gmail.com.

Recognizing the offer as a scam, the recipient contacted the newspaper to alert others and reported it to local authorities.

All such attempts constitute fraud and should be reported to local authorities when received. Under no circumstances should the money orders be cashed.
