Lady Maniacs sweep doubleheader
Orofino put
plenty of runs on the board March 16, while sweeping Lewis County in
a doubleheader, 12-4 and 14-5.
Lady Maniac
catcher Megan Gilmer had a big double with the bases loaded in the
sixth inning of the second game to break things open.
Ashley Schrader
went the distance in the first game for Orofino, and Tabby Haskett
had a strong performance on the mound in the second game before
Schrader came on to finish it off.

Maniacs plate 35
in doubleheader sweep of Joseph
Orofino plated
35 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Joseph, Ore March 19. The Maniacs
outscored Joseph 18-7 in the opener and closed the day with a 17-7
victory.
An eight-run
eruption in the bottom of the third fueled the Maniacs in the first
game, which saw pitcher Adam Wilson go the distance.
In the nightcap,
Ethan Gilliam's RBI single in the seventh ended the game on account
of the 10-run mercy rule.
Gilliam finished
with three hits and Ricky Breeden had three RBI for Orofino.

BASEBALL
Maniacs sweep St. Maries
The Maniacs took
advantage of wild St. Maries pitching in the first game and then
followed Ricky Breeden's lead in the second game to claim a sweep in
the doubleheader March 20. The Maniacs won 17-7 and 11-1.
St. Maries
walked 14 hitters and hit six others in the first game, allowing the
Maniacs to score their 17 runs on just four hits.
Breeden then
shut down St. Maries on the mound in the second game with four
strikeouts over his five innings of work. He also nailed a solo
homer in the fourth inning to help the Maniacs again reach the
mercy-rule limit.
Adam Wilson went
2-for-4 with four RBI in the second game, while Michael Welch was
3-for-4 with two RBI.
"I thought we
played very well, pretty solid," Orofino coach Bo Cummings said.

Timberline drops doubleheader to Potlatch
Timberline faced
Potlatch March 16, losing both games of a doubleheader that saw
Potlatch scatter 28 hits across two games. Both games were decided
by the 10-run mercy rule.
The Spartans
lost the opener 10-0 and the nightcap 18-3.

Invitational track meet results
The Timberline
girls finished ninth with 25 points in a field of 19 teams at the
Lapwai Invitational prep track meet March 20. The boys finished
eighth with 44 points.
Aspen Jared
finished third in the 400 with a time of 1:06.5 and fourth in the

Timberline girls

Austin Blain won
