charged in sexual misconduct case
The
Orofino Police Department (OPD) received a report on Dec. 8 alleging
sexual misconduct involving one of their officers.

snowmobiler dies in avalanche near Headquarters
Carl Corder, 60, of
Orofino died Sunday noon in an avalanche, 15 miles northeast of
Headquarters and Mike Stamper, also of Orofino, suffered minor injuries
in the avalanche.

Lt.
Governor Jim Risch will be the keynote speaker at the Clearwater County
Republican Lincoln Day Dinner and Fundraiser to be held Saturday, March
22 at the Orofino High School cafeteria.

Woman
sentenced in Orofino toddler’s death
District Court Judge John Bradbury imposed sentencing on Rita Johnston,
Orofino, on March 17. Johnston pleaded guilty to involuntary
manslaughter, following the death of her step-grandson, 15 month old
Patrick Graber, Jr. on July 4, 2007.

Reduction (circuit breaker) deadline is April 15
Homeowners who may qualify for up to $1,320 in property tax reduction
have until April 15 to apply under Idaho’s Property Tax Reduction
(Circuit Breaker) program.
