Lawler is the newest County Marine Deputy
The newest member
of the Clearwater County Sheriff’s office, Marine/Waterways, Deputy Herbert G.
Lawler, has recently completed the Idaho Peace Officer Standards & Training
(POST) located in Meridian. POST-Academy was 10 weeks and included all aspects
of law enforcement.
Deputy Lawler is relatively new to Clearwater County. In 2006 he retired from U.S. Government service with over 29 years of combined employment with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife, U.S. National Park and U.S. Coast Guard.
He will be attending several more advance training courses in the coming months. Some of his training will include, jet ski water rescue, boat crash investigation, and boating safely instruction.
Deputy Lawler’s past experiences in the U.S. Coast Guard as a member of the elite, “Squadron One” Viet Nam River Rats, along with U.S. Navy, PRB, Special Boat Unit will prove to be an asset. His past assignments included extensive search and rescue experience.
Deputy Lawler will make an excellent addition to the Marine/Waterways Department of Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.
