Deputy Goetz files for candidacy to run as county sheriff

   Filing deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, March 21. Declarations are available at the Clearwater County Clerk’s office.

   As of Tuesday the only newcomer to file as candidate for the five Clearwater County offices up for election this fall is Chris Goetz, who filed for the position of county sheriff.

   Goetz (R) is currently Clearwater County Sheriff Chief Deputy to Sheriff Alan Hengen.

   Incumbents Don Ebert (D) has filed for the position of District 1 Commissioner and Stan Leach (R) has filed for District 2 Commissioner.

   Incumbents E. Clayne Tyler (R) has filed for candidacy to the position of county prosecutor and Carrie Bird (D) has filed for the position of Clearwater County clerk, auditor/recorder.

   Ahsahka #11-Barbara Paulson, (D).

   As of Tuesday evening no one has filed for Weippe, Pierce, Elk River, Grangemont or Precinct 1, 2 and 4, Orofino.
