Maniacs lose 2-1
against Kellogg
The Maniacs lost
their opener against Kellogg 8-7 on March 12, before going on to
defeat the Wildcats 13-3 and 12-1 the following day.
Kellogg 8, Orofino 7
In the opener,
Kellogg scored the go-ahead run on a bases-loaded walk in the top of
the seventh to take down Orofino.
Trevor Bansemer
went 2-for-3 with three RBI for Orofino, which walked seven batters
and plunked two.
"We walked too
many guys today," Orofino coach Bo Cummings said. "We gave up a lot
of easy bases today."

Michael Welch
doubled twice and drove in six runs as Orofino swept Kellogg in a
doubleheader to avenge the loss of the previous day.
The Maniacs
spotted Kellogg three runs in the opener, thanks to walks and passed
balls, before erupting for six runs in the third inning, sparked by
a two-run double by Ricky Breeden.
Welch went
3-for-4 in that game, with a pair of two-run doubles, and also
pitched the first five innings, striking out 10 and walking three.
Nick Pomponio
drove in three runs in the second game, while the Maniacs drew eight
walks and were hit by five pitches.
