Tracy Johnson has been selected to compete as one of the finalists in the Miss American Co-ed Pageant to be held in Pocatello May 27.

Timberline’s team was victorious in the Bald Mountain High School Cup Giant Slalom race. Team members were Marc Ward, Brent Wells, Macy Warford, John Childers and Darren Wells. Placing second was Orofino High with team members Erica Kludt, Jeff Hanson, Todd Wilson, Heather Irby and Brian Hill.

Placing the highest of any Orofino High School wrestler in the school’s history, heavyweight Greg Diehl captured second in an A-2 State Wrestling Tournament held in Pocatello.
Bobbi Stalnaker received one of 18 Sectional 4-H Veterinary Science Awards from Preston S. Parish, vice chairman of the board.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wilson will leave today by plane from Spokane for Germany where he will be stationed with the Air Force for the next two years.
Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Walrath announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorene, to Harry C. Walrath, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Walrath. An April 27 wedding is planned.

Second Eagle Scout award of the past five years will be made in Orofino when the court of honor is held. Jack Williams will earn top Eagle award. Six other scouts who will receive star awards are Mike McNichols, Mike Floan, Mike Richardson, Gary Norton, Dick Cochrane and Larry Packwood.

Salary increases ranging upward to $35 a month are booked for Orofino city officials.
Under the plan the water superintendent would draw $185 a month; chief of police $165 or $170 per month; park superintendent $125; city clerk $95; police officers $135 to $145; fire chief $25; city attorney $30; city treasurer $30 and police judge $10.

A train crew of the Camas Prairie Railroad, headed by a V type snow plow went up the Headquarters branch to open the line to Cardiff’s Mill and beyond. Twenty inches of snow fell since the last train went over the line
The semi-annual appointment of state money from the school endowments was made to Clearwater County last week by the state superintendent. The amount was $2,390.90 based on the school census 0f 1,753.
