Timberline defeats Highland at the buzzer

    Logan Anthony buried a baseline jumper with less than five seconds to go, giving Timberline the victory over Highland in a touch-and-go WPL game Feb 13. The Spartans defeated Highland 63-62, with a well balanced scoring attack.

   Anthony’s winning basket came off an assist from Kaden Jared, who drove into the lane as the clock wound down. Jared contributed 10 points and four steals off the bench, while fellow Spartan reserve Dusty Hodges contributed 13 points and eight rebounds. Tanner Jared scored 13 points as well.

Culdesac defeats Timberline with 12 point spree

   With a 12-0 spree midway through the fourth quarter, Culdesac defeated Timberline 66-59 Feb. 12.

   The score was tied at 45 entering the fourth, and Timberline started the period with five quick points. But the Wolves responded with their momentum-turning push.

   The Spartans got 22 points from Logan Anthony. Dustin Hodges and Andrew Blain scored in double figures as well with 15 and 12 points respectively.

Timberline falls to Culdesac in play in match up

   Closing out a week of rescheduled play, due to the weather, the Timberline Spartans fell to Culdesac 50-45 in the play in game 1A district tournament Feb. 14. The loss ended the season for Timberline.

   Tied at the half, the game remained close until Culdesac opened up a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter. Timberline cut the margin to three inside the final minute. The Spartans had two shots to tie it, but both bounced away.

   Seniors Tanner Jared and Logan Anthony scored 20 points and 15 points respectively for the Spartans.
