   Timberline High School girls’ basketball team members are Nikki Wyatt, Heather Nelson, Lone Fiil, Sarah Thompson, Jessie Staggs, Marcie Allen, Martha Coronel, Julie Wright, Sonny Duffy and Angie Umphenour.  Tom Wright is their coach assisted by John Townsend.

   Early heavy snow that fell on and around Dworshak Dam has resulted in the loss of about 100 elk. Early harsh winter conditions above the northern end of   Dworshak Reservoir have driven elk down to along the shoreline in search of food and covering.

   Robert Sorrels, Lewis-Clark State College, presented a Community Service Award to Orofino High School principal Skip Wilson.

   Named to the University of Idaho Dean’s List for the 1992 fall semester are: Ahsahka, Kimberly A. Davie; Orofino, College of Art and Agriculture, Katie Eichert; College of Education, Michael Espinosa; College of Engineering, David L. Roder; College of Forestry, Wade A. Alonzo and College of Letters and Science, Lori L. Barkley and Justin K. Bretz.

   John Gilliam has spent three years creating his newest bronze, the bust of “Mother Teresa” and has scheduled a show in Lewiston in March.

   Jeff Wilson shattered the 33 year all-time single Maniac basketball scoring record here Saturday night. The 52 point effort was witnessed by one of the largest crowds of fans since the state championships of Coach Wilbur Montgomery.

   Sports Spotlight this week features Lance Vaughn, a junior who plays guard on the boys OHS Basketball team and Scott Heaton, a senior that plays forward.

   Harriet Reece, the new Orofino Chamber of Commerce President, is the second woman to hold that position and has had a long and widely based involvement in community affairs.

   Karen Hunter, daughter of Dorothy and Lowell Hunter, was named on the Dean’s list in Vocational Education at Lewis-Clark State College for the first half of the academic year.

   Airman Jeffrey Crump has completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base Texas and schooling at Shegard Air Force Base, Texas, as a crew chief on KC-135 (Boeing 707}.

   Connie Tinsley won a $100 prize as winner of the Valentine Kiss promotion.

   Flume Gulch residents have agreed to provide the city with 40 feet of right away in turn for the city agreement to maintain and plow the road on an early day route up Wells Bench.

   The county commissioners have purchased a 21 foot boat from Valley Recreation for the use by the sheriff’s department on Dworshak pool.

   Top Eagle Scout Award has been made to David Casteel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Casteel of Headquarters.

   Underground tanks are being removed from the old Mobil station at the corner of Johnson and College, site for the new building to serve the new Rod’s Drug Store.

   Robert A.H. Adams, a budget analyst on the Lolo Forest, has been named to succeed Hal B. Gambs as admistrative officer for the Clearwater.

   Richard K. Markuson, owner of Oud Rexall Drug, was the recipient of the Orofino Jaycee Distinguished Service Award.

   General Telephone set February 18 for cut over to long distance toll dialing for the Orofino phone exchange.

   Mrs. Howard Wunderlich, post supervisor, announced a 100 hour watch awards in Ground Observers Corps will be given to Viola Molly, Margaret Blake, Stan Pearce and Sharon McCreary.

   Census shows that there are 4546 males and 3671 females in Clearwater County. Median income showed in the 1950 census as $2870.
