8th annual Maniac Cheer Off Saturday

What weighs between 90 and 110 pounds, flies through the air and lands gracefully on the outstretched hands of a young man? One of Orofino's flying cheerleaders does this and more.
On Saturday, Feb. 23, the Orofino High School Cheerleaders will host the 8th Annual Maniac Cheer Off. The Cheer Competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Orofino High School.
Orofino has 23 cheerleaders, 9 young men and 14 young ladies from the championship squad of 2007. Last year in Boise they were crowned State Champions, scoring higher than any of the other 48 teams in the state in all divisions. This year in Post Falls they won first in their division and first overall, scoring higher than the other 20 teams at the event.
This year there will be 23 teams from Idaho and Washington participating in the day long event. There are over 100 entries and the day will be jam packed with cheer, stunting, jumping, dance and tumbling. There will be over 350 cheerleaders competing this year.
If you have never seen this spirited group of young athletes now is your chance. You will not be disappointed. So come on out to the OHS gym on Saturday and join in the fun!
