Former resident publishes first book
Author Beverly Seaton Ingersoll was born and raised in Orofino and graduated
from Orofino High School in 1968. Her first book, 4 Months of God’s Mercy,
was released February 12, 2008. Beverly’s maiden name was Carlson until she
married her high school sweetheart, Larry Seaton, also a resident and graduate
of OHS.
The couple married Jan. 24, 1968 only 10 days before Larry was sent for a second tour of duty in Vietnam. After his return to the states, they spent the next 20 years in the military.
Upon Larry’s retirement from the Army in 1985 they continued to reside in Spanaway, WA where Larry passed away from lung and brain cancer, Jan. 25, 2003.
What happens to the person, to the family, and how do they cope when cancer strikes? Author Beverly Seaton Ingersoll shares in 4 Months of God’s Mercy the intimate, emotional, and at times funny events that happened during her journey.
Larry, a highly decorated war hero, always in control, finds that for the first time in his life he has control over nothing. Knowing his time on earth is quickly ending he relies completely on God’s mercy to see him through and let him die with dignity.
4 Months of God’s Mercy is a must read for all. Death and dying is a subject most of us care not to discuss, but sometime in your life you will be touched by this horrible disease. It might be a family member, a friend or yourself. 4 Months of God’s Mercy shows that He is with you every minute of the day and every step of the way.
