Idaho Farm Bureau scholarships

Itís that time of year to begin thinking about the Idaho Farm Bureau Scholarship program. A total of eight state scholarships will be awarded by Idaho Farm Bureau in 2010 to high school seniors or students already attending college. There will be four $750 scholarships awarded in the Non-Ag related field of study and four $750 awarded in the Ag related field of study. These scholarships are for one year of higher education at an institution of their choice and are limited to one per recipient.

Applicants must be members of an Idaho Farm Bureau Family. Membership applications are available at the Farm Bureau Insurance Office.

An official high school transcript or if already attending college transcript and three letters of recommendation must accompany the application. A recent photograph will be used for publicity purposes only. Clearwater/Lewis County Farm Bureau will select two individuals from the pool of applicants and submit their applications to the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation for consideration for the state scholarships, one in a Non-Ag related field of study and one in an Ag-related field of study.

As added incentive, the Clearwater/Lewis County Farm Bureau will award $500 county scholarships to each of the two applicants chosen to complete for state scholarships.

Completed applications and accompanying information must be submitted to the Farm Bureau Insurance Office located at 150 126th St. in Orofino no later than March 4, 2010.
