Joe Larson was honored at a birthday party Saturday at the IOOF Hall in Weippe. Many friends and relatives came to bring best wishes for a happy 80th birthday.
Christine and Sid Brown and Vickie and Marlowe Jorgenson went to Clearwater last Sunday to attend the Sylvan Rebekah Lodge's annual Sausage Breakfast. Christine said it was a good way to start Superbowl Sunday. This is an annual fund raiser for the Sylvan Rebekah Lodge. The Lodge was also raffling off a handcrafted quilt…which Christine won! All in all, not a bad day. The Lodge makes their own sausage which is sold by the pound in addition to serving it at the breakfast.
Ione Smith was housebound recently due to a problem with her hip and leg. She greatly appreciates the help of so many community members; Shawna Cochrell, Kelly Kingen, Ladonna Chapman, Bill Webster, Clarence Binder, Linda Soles, and the Cooks at Hilltop Seniors.
Dolores Watson reports there were three tables of serenely happy pinochle players at the Lodge on Sunday. Fred Borders won high score, Lori Franchini won low. Pinochle was won by Maebellann Steadman and Jane Ann Wiegand.
The Pool Tournament went on as usual Sunday. At the Lucky Inn, Elkhorn 2 played Lucky 2, score was Elkhorn 2-12, Lucky 2-4. At the Elkhorn, Timber 1 played Elkhorn 1, score was Timber 1 - 10 and Elkhorn 1 - 6. At the Timber Inn players were Lucky 1 and Timber 2, score 10 to 6.

The second fantasy continues the Redwall epic over the cold Northern Isles, across the heaving seas, sweeping through forest and plain, from the legendary badger mountain to the ancient stones of Redwall Abbey - the war cry thunders out...Eulaliiiiiiaaaaa!
