Passerby reports chimney fire at house on Vista Ave.
The Orofino Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to a chimney fire Monday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m. at the Banks residence on Vista Ave. after a person driving by saw smoke and called the fire department.
Orofino Fire Chief Mike Lee said there was no damage sustained to the house as the fire was confined to the chimney and flue.
Lee said the occupants were home at the time and in the other end of the house so did not realize there was a fire until the firemen knocked on the door and told them.
Vista Ave is located behind the Clearwater National forest building on Hwy 12.
