Roger D. Morgan Celebration of Life Saturday

   Come celebrate the life of Roger D. Morgan with family and friends on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. at the Cavendish Teakean Fire Hall.

   All are invited to bring a covered dish of your choice to the potluck.

John Paul Baugh, 65, Orofino

   John Paul Baugh of Orofino died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 due to complications following surgery. John was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. He was 65.

   John was born on July 14, 1944 in Orofino to Paul and Lila Baugh.

   He married Linda Weddle in Lewiston April 23, 1966. That marriage later ended in divorce. He always had special place in his heart for Dorothy Jones, who cared for Summer (his daughter) after the divorce. He spoke many times of the strength and love she gave to both Summer and himself.

   He met his current wife, Gloria, on Sept. 30, 1989 when she asked him to dance. They have been inseparable sweethearts since they fell in love that night. They married in Orofino on Feb. 14, 1992.

   John proudly served his country with the Idaho Army National Guard beginning in 1964 doing weekend and summer drills with Company D of the 116th Combat Engineer Battalion in Orofino. He attended Basic Training in Fort Leonardwood, MO in 1965.

   He was a heavy equipment operator and served a tour of duty in Vietnam from Sept. 11, 1968 until his discharge Sept. 4, 1969. His rank was Specialist 5th Class. He spent time near the demilitarized zone in Vietnam and was awarded the Army Accommodation Medal.

   John loved 4-wheeling with his dog, Gracie May, spending timed in the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and exploring. He enjoyed working on projects in his shop for family and friends. Most of all he loved spending time with family and watching his grandchildren grow up.

   He is survived by his wife Gloria Baugh at the family home; his mother Lila; two sisters, Judy Coomer (husband Jack) of Boise and Lura Mullikin (husband Lyle) of Orofino; his children, Paul and Matt Baugh and Summer Mechling, all of Deary, and Blain Graening of Post Falls; grandchildren Ryan Baugh of Lewiston and Sage Montana and Jacob Mechling of Deary.

   John was preceded in death by his father, Paul, who died in a logging accident when John was a young boy; and his step-father, Ted Zimbauer, who John loved and respected very much.

   Visitation was Held Feb. 5 and Feb. 6 at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino. The funeral took place Feb. 6 at Pine Hills, followed by a covered-dish potluck at the National Guard Armory on U.S. Highway 12 in Orofino.

   Pine Hills Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in care of arrangements.

Sally Jane Irby, 72, Orofino

   Sally Jane Irby, born Feb. 5, 1937, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 in Lewiston.

   Sally was born in Snohomish, WA to Gordon and Alice Frost. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and huckleberry picking and especially spending time with her husband, Billie.

   Sally is survived by one brother in Idaho and two brothers in California; two daughters, Tammie Robertson of Peck and Nancy Hartness of Athens, GA; one stepdaughter and three stepsons; and several grandchildren and step grandchildren.

   A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 13 at Peck Community Center in Peck at 11 a.m. Pastor Tristan Harvey will conduct services. A potluck will be held immediately after the service.

   Memorial donations in her name may be made to Orchards Rehab and Care Center in Lewiston.

   Pine Hills Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in care of arrangements.

John G. O'Rourke, 74, Peck

   John G. O'Rourke, 74, of Peck, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, following a lengthy illness, at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino.

   He was born Feb. 8, 1935, to Simon W. and Pauline Beck O'Rourke in Pittsburgh, PA., the second youngest of six boys. Pauline would later remarry after Simon was tragically killed in an accident.

   A memorial service was held with military rites Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Orofino National Guard Armory, 10210 Highway 12.

   John grew up in the Linton, N.D area. He loved to fly airplanes and was a skilled crop duster pilot. He also sold and worked on boats and Ski-do snowmobiles. John served in the United States Marines. He moved to LaCrosse, WA. to continue pursuing his love of flying, then to Peck. He remained there until his death.

   He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He had a green thumb and enjoyed working outside in his garden. He grew enough vegetables to share with all his neighbors.

   He is survived by his mother, Pauline Sadler of Orofino; daughters Karen O'Rourke Waliser of Bismarck, N.D., Steve and Karol O'Rourke Zachmann of Baker, MT., and Jim and Patty Rhone of RI; grandchildren Christopher Waliser of Savannah, GA., Nicholas and Courtney Waliser of Mandan, N.D., Matt and Renee Waliser Smalley of Waialua, HI, Dominique and Desiree Zachmann Bondley of Lincoln, N.D., Jeff and Maranda Zachmann Hastig of Baker, Travis Zachmann of Bismarck, N.D., and Trevor Martin, James, Hunter and Alex Rhone of RI; great-grandchildren Wren Waliser of Mandan, Brooke Bondley and Hayden Bondley of Lincoln, and Jayden Hastig of Baker, MT.

   John was preceded in death by his father, Simon; and five brothers, Simon, Chris, Joe, Paul and Herbert.

   A memorial will also be scheduled for a later date in Linton.
