Menu at the center for Thursday, Feb. 7, is Swedish meat balls, mashed potatoes, green beans and peaches. Monday, Feb. 11 they will serve baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and pears, rolls and butter.
There will be a Friends of the Library meeting Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 2 pm.
There were four tables at the Lodge pinochle group Sunday. Maebellann Steadman and her partner won pinochle.
Kathy and Jim Waldron went to Medford, OR last week. They attended the funeral of Jim's sister-in-law Peggy Waldron, wife of Jim’s brother Harold. The Waldron’s two daughters, Danette McGinty and Rene Huffaker attended the funeral with them. Kathy says it took them 17 hours to make the trip home, it usually takes 11. The weather was bad and the roads hazardous. After that they went to Spokane for Jim’s annual heart checkup, doc says Jim is doing well.
There were 140 participants in the Where's Weippe Ski Retreat last weekend hosted by the Weippe Wesleyan Church. Participants came from Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, Clarkston, Yakima, Hermiston, Vancouver, Cottonwood Creek, Nampa and Weippe.
Mike Hoffman of Vancouver gave a presentation, the theme of the gathering was “Pressing On”. Among the activities were skiing, a bonfire, and a pig roast. Ivan and Melody Thompson were in charge of roasting the pig provided by the Walkers. Many lives were changed during this weekend.
Terri says there are some tee shirts shirts left. The tees say either, I love Weippe, I ski Weippe or I snowboard Weippe. You can reach Teri at 435-4720.
