Haystack Lunch Tuesday, Feb. 12
We are again serving our delicious haystack lunch on Tuesday, Feb. 12. We will be below the Pizza Factory for those of you that want to pick up your lunch or can enjoy sitting with friends and eat there.
We will deliver to businesses in Orofino. You can place your order by calling 476-9823. Please leave how many lunches you are ordering, the name of your business and your telephone number. If you have to get your lunch by a certain time it is very important that you let us know what time you have to have them at your place of business. The cost is $6 each. We will take orders through Monday, Feb. 11 at 5 p.m. We thank you all for your continued support!
Valentine’s Day Pet Care
We all love to get those beautiful flowers and yummy chocolates for Valentine’s Day. Whether it’s a romantic candlelit dinner at home, flowers delivered, or candy presented we need to remember that these things can be dangerous to our pets. Dogs eating chocolate can cause vomiting, diarrhea, hyperactivity and seizures. In severe cases it can cause death.
Keep the sweets up and away from where Fido can reach chocolate. You might think sugar free candy or gum is safe? Not so. The ingredient xylitol, which is a sugar substitute, can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure. A sudden drop in blood pressure can in turn cause depression, loss of coordination, and seizures.
If you see or suspect your animal has ingested one of the above, please seek veterinary care immediately.
Our beautiful flower arrangements can be very dangerous to our cats. Many varieties of lilies are highly toxic to cats. Tulips, (especially the planted bulbs, are the most toxic) amaryllis. calla lily, baby’s breath, daisies and chrysanthemums are just some of the toxic plants for cats. You can go to the ASPCA site for a full list of toxic plants.
Remember to clean up any wrapping, tape, bows and other leftovers from gifts. These items, if ingested by your cat or dog can be very hazardous to your pet’s health.
We are looking for land to be donated. We need a shelter. We take in from 300-400 dogs a year. We also take in hundreds of cats and kittens. Because we don’t have a facility to allow us more room, we have to turn away animals. None of us in this wonderful community want that.
Again, thank you for all your continued support. The animals are allowed to live because of your generosity.
Our policy on strays
All stray dogs and cats are vaccinated upon arrival for their safety and the safety of the other dogs and cats. They are also neutered and spayed on the sixth (6) day. All costs are the responsibility of the owner claiming the dog. Strays are held for five (5) days and then are for adoption.
Wish list
Please save blankets for us as the critters love to snuggle in at night. We need nylabones for the dogs and toys for our kittens right now.
You can drop all donations of food, toys, blankets, etc. at Orofino Builders Supply. Steve and Leila Crockett continue to be animal lovers and great supporters. Thank you for thinking of us!

#5 “Tess” – 10 month female Boxer X.
#6 Gray Tabby for adoption.
#7 & 9 “Jack” and “Jill” – 12 week old Terrier cross. Will be small/medium when fully grown.
#8 “Lily” – Female, 4 years old, Red Heeler X. A little shy, very sweet.
#10 Six 12 week old, male and female black lab/retriever puppies. Little bundles of joy!

Lost and found
If you find a stray dog, please contain the dog and call. Many times I get a call from someone that has a stray but by the time I get there the person calling says the dog ran off. Please contain in a yard or tie the dog until I get there. We want to keep these poor dogs safe and either find their owners or get them a wonderful lifetime home.
All stray dogs and cats are vaccinated and wormed upon arrival for their safety and the safety of the other dogs and cats. They are also neutered and spayed after a five (5) day waiting period. All costs are the responsibility of the owner claiming the dog or cat. Strays are held for five days and then are up for adoption.
