Disaster declaration issued for Elk River
Clearwater County has issued a disaster declaration for the city of Elk River. The community has received over seven feet of snow and snow continues to fall. With assistance of the State of Idaho and Clearwater County, Elk River will soon begin to dig out.
The priority is to make roads passable for ambulances and fire equipment. Elk River mayor Jim Martin has worked closely with Clearwater County Emergency Manager Don Gardner and Commissioner John Allen to work out the details of dealing with the snow.
It is estimated that it will take three days to remove the snow away from the city.
