Orofino Girls Basketball team wins 6C Courts By Jerry Nelsen The Orofino girls’ basketball team won the Battle of the 6C Courts played on Jan. 11 with a score of 55-35. The girls are experiencing a very successful season. There are 21 girls in the program, both JV and varsity. The girls are playing well and scoring points. We will miss four seniors off this year’s team in reloading for next year. They are Amanda Bonner, Theresa Sykes, Shelby Millsap and Becca Nemeth. The girls will be heading into district tournament action on Feb. 9 at Lakeland High School. Next year we will be officially back in the 2A classification. The CIL league will consist of Orofino, Kamiah, Grangeville, CDA Charter and Project CDA. I want to thank the parents, grandparents and others for the support for the girl’s basketball team this year. Without your support, many of the achievements could not be accomplished. Thank you and Go Lady Maniacs. |
