Local hunters on national TV

They’re back! The  Explorer's Big Game Journal featuring Rex Summerfield from Weippe, Rockie Jacobsen from Kamiah, Kurt Howard from Peck and Byron Barfield from Lewiston will begin airing nationally Friday, Feb. 1, at 6:30 a.m.

Previously found on The Men’s Channel, the show will air weekly on Fox Sports Northwest as well as other Fox affiliates and cable companies across the country. Fox Northwest can be seen on Dish Network channel 426 or Direct TV channel 651. Viewers may also catch the broadcast Sunday evenings at 6:30 on KLEW-TV channel 13.

Set the TiVo – Set the DVR – don’t miss an episode!  Archery elk hunting, black bears and mountain goats are just a few of the exhilarating shows. The love of the sport and commitment to the local hunting culture ideal form the basic concept.  No canned ranch hunts. No kill scene after kill scene.  See the whole hunt, misses and successes.

The Explorer’s Big Game Journal is produced in Weippe.  “Produced in Weippe” means, it is taped live then edited and close-captioned at the home-based business which is in its sixth year of production.

The partners seek, use and promote local products. Local business sponsors of the national show – a win-win – are Kick-eez Recoil Pads of Orofino and Bugling Bull Game Calls in Kamiah.  Idaho Fur Dressers in Weippe is a local sponsor.

Lewiston sponsors include Diamondback Shooting Range, Idaho Car Sales, Northwest Truck Outfitter’s Lewiston RV and Snake River Adventures.

Other national sponsors: Spot Hogg Archery Products, Knight Rifles, King’s Shadow Camo, Big Sky Racks and Scopecoat.
