
OHS Varsity Cheerleaders place first at north Idaho competition
The Orofino High School Varsity Cheerleaders were among 21 teams competing at the North Idaho Cheer Championships at Post Falls High School on Saturday, Jan. 26. They took first in their division and first overall, scoring more points than the other 20 teams at the competition.
Teams competing were from the 1A through 5A classifications.
The OHS Cheerleaders also competed in the Co-Ed Partner Stunt Division. Placing third were Jayme Goodson, Tyrnee Nakano and William Akerstrom; placing second were Alex Neshkoff, Kelsey Pederson and Kory Parker; and placing first were Bobby Meador, Kelsey Hanson and William Akerstrom.
The top five rankings are as follows: 1st Orofino, 2nd Timberline, 3rd St. Maries, 4th Priest River Lammana and 5th Bonners Ferry. Congratulations also to the Timberline High School cheerleaders for earning second place at the competition.
