CVHC to offer cancer support group
Clearwater Valley
Hospital and Clinics is sponsoring a new cancer support group. Their first
meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, from
6 p.m.
to 7:15 p.m.
in the hospital’s downstairs conference room.
Anyone experiencing cancer, family members, caregivers and friends are welcome to attend. There is no charge for the group meetings, which will be held the second Wednesday of each month.
Jim May, CVHC Development Director (pictured), will facilitate the group. He has over a decade of training in counseling beyond a Masters degree with the Glasser Institute in Los Angeles and has over ten years of group facilitation experience. He was his wife’s major caregiver during her recent bout with cancer and chemotherapy.
“I know from experience how important it is to have a network of support during any cancer experience from the initial diagnosis to living with the condition when the treatment phase ends,” said May. “This group can be a place for sharing our experiences, discussing possible resources and deciding where we’d like to go from here.”
No registration is necessary. Participants can enter by the front door and go down the stairs. The downstairs conference room is at the end of the hallway. Refreshments will be provided. For more information call May, 476-0230.
