   Striker Wrestling team members are Tanner Wahl, Devon Broncheau, Michael Skinner, Rugar Wahl, Zach Irby, Sawyer Wahl, Zain Hixson. Sacha Ayers, Travis Summers, Jason Skinner, Crystal Hixson, Heaton Irby, Cody Hollibaugh, Aaron Barnett and Logan Spaulding.  Their coach is Randy Hollibaugh.

   The Orofino Maniac Wrestling team wrestled to a third place at the Kamiah Invitational.  First place went to Casey Waggener at 152 lbs., and Jim Aarstad at 189 lbs., receiving second place was Sam Baumer at 140 lbs. and Paul Larsen at 145 lbs.  Third place was Paul Larsen at 145 lbs., Tanner Downing at 130 lbs., Kelly Wagener 152 lbs. and Mike Forest at Heavyweight.

   Timberline High School boy’s varsity basketball team members are Corey Brown, Kris Waide, Kelly Tschida, Erron Umphenour, Roger Wise, Darrell McKinley, David Lange, Rob Smith, and Mark Mowery. Buck Garritson is their coach.

   Orofino Junior High School Squad boy’s basketball team members are Mike Kennedy, Jeff Hanson, Garett Bretz, Gene Harrington, Jeff Schwartz, Ron Fredrickson, Todd Mullins, Heath Gimmestad, Scott Morgan and John Knapik. Chad Easterbrook is their coach.

   Orofino Junior High B Squad boy’s basketball team members are Dwane Call, Larry Call, Rick Ramsey, Chad Burke, Scott Anderson, Brad Leeper, Ryan Platt, Ryan Laws, David McDade, Brian Osborne and Doug Adams. The team is coached by Monte Davis.

   Lew Mangum was the Orofino overall champion in the 12-14 year division of the Lewiston Tribune Hoop Shoot. His brother, Kevin, was winner in the 12 year old division.

   In Clearwater County, during 1969 there were 154 births, 86 boys and 68 girls and 93 deaths.

   Clearwater County had nine traffic fatalities in 1969 according to Idaho State Police.

   Tammy Olson was installed as honored Queen of Bethel 63, Jobs Daughters.

   Brook Grasser, third grader, brought in the first buttercup of the year from Upper Fords Creek.

   Unusually heavy snow packs are causing concern all over the state. Based on snow data gathered early in January, watersheds are showing snow packs 140 to 260 percent of normal. Soils are saturated with water at all elevations throughout the Clearwater drainage.

   Ahsahka has begun to hear the roar of heavy equipment again as Kiewett Construction Company builds its access road to the tunnel job at the dam. One of the heavy blasts really shook the town.

   Average population at State Hospital North dropped 351 to 338 last year, but an additional 115 were generally on leave.

   Termination is planned for Lewiston to Orofino and Pierce freight hauls by the Lolo Pass Motor Freight last week because of the low volume of freight.

   Orofino temperatures dropped to eight below zero Monday and Tuesday morning moderating on Wednesday to permit another snow storm.

   Total snow for the week added up to more than 21 inches, but had little water content. High temperatures for the week varied from 11 degrees to 44 degrees. For four days the mercury stayed under the zero mark from 2 to 8 below.

   Sunday morning the Greer Service Station was robbed of $10 in cash, $2.50 in postage stamps, a Hamilton wrist watch cigarettes and candy. The total lost was valued at $100.
