A total of 139 parking meters have been removed from Orofino.
“Village Square” is the new name for the Oud Building that is currently is undergoing extensive remodeling by new owner Paul Pippenger. Located at the corner of College Avenue and Johnson, the building was most recently occupied by Abrams Hardware.

Ahsahka - a giant dozer razed four houses on the Bob Blevins property last week and crews burned them, making way for the new Clearwater Power substation. The two story house on the Blevins place was a landmark. It was one of the oldest buildings in Ahsahka.
Unemployment claims for the Idaho Department of Employment reached 502 last week, but are expected to decline with the reopening of Riverside Mill

A new $750 electronic score board for basketball games was installed at the Orofino Elementary School Gym. Players listed on the scoreboard were Ripley, 10; Bessent 12; Fritz 14; Lumper, 20; Erbst 22; McIver 30; Ewing 42 and Crouch 44.
Cindy Jasper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Jasper, is this year’s winner of the DAR Good Citizenship Award.
Lieut. Clare (Eileen) Johnson graduated Dec. 13 from 18 week officer training basic course at the Women’s Army Corps Center, Ft. McClellan, Ala.

Temperatures dropped below zero for the first time this winter with a -4. Snow started falling Saturday night dropping 2 inches and by Jan. 22 15 ½ inches were on the ground.
Grangemont-The Chuck Easterbrook’s trailer house at Porter’s Camp was destroyed by fire. A few things were saved, but most possessions were burned. They are temporarily living in the Porter’s cook house.

Miss Harriet Reece was chosen president of the writer’s workshop at an organizational meeting recently.
Kooskia town team members of the Lewis-Clark basketball league will meet the University of Idaho freshman team in Memorial Gymnasium in Moscow. Five Orofino athletes playing with the strong Kooskia team are Jack Gilmer, Jim Bessent, John Hutchinson, Pete Nygaard and Wilbur Montgomery.

Orofino High’s Lady Maniac team fattened their season average when they defeated Peck 27-15 on the local floor. Helen Campbell and Patricia Edwards were high for Orofino with 14 and 8 points. Marie Parks was high for Peck with 6.

Motor vehicle licenses sold in Clearwater County during 1932 dropped off to the extent of almost 200 applications as compared to 1931. Applying for car licenses were 858, trucks 195, dealers six and one motorcycle
The public Utilities Commission of Idaho has granted the Camas Prairie Railroad permission to curtail its services on the Lewiston-Stites line. The gasoline coach referred to the “bug” was with drawn from service.
The city of Orofino will construct a new six inch water main from the new city hall up A Street to its intersection with Michigan Avenue and from this point west along Michigan to the Helgeson corner.
