Approval given to vacate portion of Ash Street
Following a public hearing the Orofino City Council Tuesday approved Suzanne Crady’s application to vacate a portion of Ash St., a dirt road that ends at the intersection of Forsman.
The property is zoned (R-2) Single Family Residential and was sold to Crady by Mike Lee.
The City Planning and Zoning Commission, in recommending her request be granted, states Ash is very steep in this location and the property in question is all owned by one individual. There is street access and water and sewer facilities from Forsman St.
Larry Annen, head of the city water works, reported the Department of Environmental Quality will conduct a sanitary survey Jan. 30 to check for deficiencies and inspect the reservoirs. He said this survey is done on a four year average.
During Tuesday’s session the council adopted Resolution No. 08-385 amending the city’s personnel policies and procedures effective Jan. 31.
The council also adopted a resolution #08-386 directing the disposal of certain semi-permanent city records.
Present at Tuesday’s council meet were City Administrator Rick Laam, City Clerk Janet Montambo, Council members Mike Deitrick, Ted Brown, Doug Donner, Roy Clay and Marguerite McLaughlin and Mayor Ryan Smathers.
