Second annual Black and Gold Art Show enjoyed by all
By Judy O'Brien
There was a ripple of excitement in the air Wednesday, Jan. 16 at Studio 205 in Pierce…opening night of the second annual Black and Gold Art Show. The show continued Thursday through Saturday.
This annual event showcases Timberline High School student art. The 18 students showcasing their work were: Meagan Magers, Laura Britt, Rachel Cochrell, Amanda Ahart, Shannon Williams, Casey Cooper, Jake Jared, Anna Brotnov, Britney Goodrich, Daniel Howe, Teea Watson, Lundyn Jared, Asia Eastman, Amy Reichenberg, Jake Caal, Skyler Hedren, Hayden Jared and Justine Johnson.
There was an enthusiastic crowd viewing the art pieces, talking with the students and enjoying the food provided by Diane and Greg Gerot, owners of Studio 205 and promoters of the event.
The students were poised and articulate, and did a good job of describing their artwork.
At the end of the evening, 104 attendees had signed the guest list. Diane reports another 58 viewers came through later. Some comments on the sign in sheet; "amazing talent,” "THS students rock!," “Awesome,” “Thank you for the Show” and “Delightful.” Denny Knight’s parting comment was, "this show is as much fun as Cabelas."
Anna Brotnov, a Timberline student and one of the exhibitors, said she was glad for the show as it will be her last opportunity to enter a show like this. Anna will be attending the U of I next year majoring in geology.
Greg Gerot did the matting and Diane Gerot hung the pieces for the show. Diane would like to thank Tori Skiles and Durgan Jared who passed out flyers for the show.
An excellent job by all participants. We look forward to next year’s Black and Gold Art Show.
