![]() Timberline coasts to victory over Clarkston Playing against the Clarkston C team, the Timberline Spartans jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 78-41 victory Jan. 12. The win came one night after the Spartans defeated Orofino in the first annual Battle of the 6C Courts. “We just used full-court pressure to take control of the game,” Spartans coach Jake Nelson said. Colton Jared scored five three-pointers and went 100% at the free throw line on his way to a game high 32 points for the Spartans. Kendrick Jared scored 13. Orofino has three champions in Maniac wrestling tourney Three Orofino senior wrestlers took the championship title in their weight class at the Orofino Maniac Wrestling Tournament Jan. 15-16 at Orofino High School: Michael Skinner (135), Bo Brooks (152), and David Upton (171). Twenty schools competed in the tournament. Orofino won the most championship titles. Todd Kobielusz placed third and Jesse Faler placed fourth. Cody Cordle (160) took first in the B bracket vs. Pullman. Other Orofino participants in the Maniac tourney were: Nick Muller (130), Lawrence Dana (152), Brandon Wolfe (189), and RJ Linehan (189). Garth Schilling (285) had to forfeit, due to injuries. The Maniacs will travel to Lewiston for the Clearwater Classic tournament this weekend, with 27 or more schools participating. |
