The comedy show/crab feed is this Friday, Jan. 22. Dinner is from 5-8 p.m. and the show starts at 9pm. Winter Festival

The Pierce Winter Festival, Feb. 5-7, is just two weeks away. Check out the posters around town or our website, www.pierce/, with the events page, for a complete schedule of activities. To purchase festival T-shirts or a chance to win a $300 Cabelas gift card, go to A Blue Moose or several other Pierce businesses. For any questions call 464-2171.

You will not want to miss the Ice Man Relay. Businesses sponsor three-person teams to compete in a three-part race that involves snowshoeing, run/sledding and sprinting to the final jump into Orofino Creek. The relay is an interval timed race with the best overall time of three events, including a snowshoe course, a sled run and a team member submerging in Orofino Creek. Proper equipment, including snowshoes, sled, helmet, towel, warming tent and a hot tub dip to warm the creek participants will be provided.

The course will be clearly marked and indicated and supervised by adults along the way. The race will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 6 at the Pierce Courtyard on Court Street. Each team will pay a $10.00 registration fee.
The winning team gets their names on the traveling trophy.

Last year’s winners were from Jared Construction. Its great fun to watch! If you would like to be on a team, or are a business owner who would like to sponsor a team, call Gerots at 464-1057.

There will be plenty of free fun for the kids, beginning with sledding at Bald Mountain (snow conditions allowing) on Friday night. On Saturday, Compassionate Care will sponsor kids’ games, a snowman-building contest and a sledding competition at the old White Pine Credit Union building. Once again, there will be tractor hay rides all around town driven by Rockin Apple Ranch.

All ages can pick-up a Passport to Pierce and visit the participating businesses and festival events for a goodie and a stamp. Those completing their passports will have a chance at winning one of three prize baskets, including one for a boy and one for a girl. All kids will love roasting a marshmallow and hearing the storyteller at the bonfire on Saturday night.
