CLEARWATER TRIBUNE HOME

JANUARY 7, 2010

Stage is set for Pierce’s milestone celebration

2010 is the year for celebration for the City of Pierce.  Settled in 1860, the city will be passing its sesquicentennial mark, and a series of special events are scheduled throughout the year to highlight Pierce’s role in early Idaho settlement, the opening of the West, and its progression to the present day.

Thursday, Jan. 7 marks the date for its first event, a celebratory potluck dinner at the Community Center.  The event will start with an informal coffee and gathering at 5 pm followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and capped off with special guest speaker, Judge John Bradbury.

Judge Bradbury draws on a rich family history that includes grandparents who settled in the area in 1868 and were eyewitness to many of the fabled events that make up the story of Pierce. Judge Bradbury’s accounts and rich historical perspective are sure to take us back in time to relive the adventure of its settlers.

Please step out, cook up your best dish, and join in for and old fashioned community time together.
