Two
little heroes save Les Schilling’s life
Les Schilling, 55, born and raised in Orofino, lost his home at 716
Floyd Avenue, near Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics after
midnight Dec. 23.

A little
story about it all
On Sept. 8 the
Orofino City Council passed Ordinance No. 761, which among other
things, prohibits the use of skateboards within any city park or
sidewalk. The editorial department received the following letter and
published it in the Oct. 8 edition of the Clearwater Tribune.

Stage
is set for Pierce’s milestone celebration
2010 is the year for celebration for the City of Pierce. Settled in
1860, the city will be passing its sesquicentennial mark, and a
series of special events are scheduled throughout the year to
highlight Pierce’s role in early Idaho settlement, the opening of
the West, and its progression to the present day.

The ever popular All You Can Eat Orofino Rotary Crab Feed will be
held from 5 to 8 p. m. Saturday, Jan. 16 at the Ponderosa.

Clearwater County Commissioner, Don Ebert, stated that he
participated in a conference call Monday morning with Director,
Nancy Merrill of Idaho Parks and Recreation (IDPR) and Steve Klatt,

status of equipment needs at Dworshak State Park.

graduate is U.S. Marine
Private 1st Class Gregory J. Shriver, a graduate of Orofino High
School, graduated with honors Nov. 4 from the Marine Corps Recruit
Depot in San Diego, CA.

Vehicle
off the road on Gilbert Grade
A 37-year-old Nezperce resident survived with minor injuries after
ice caused her to drive her vehicle 150 feet off the edge of Gilbert
Grade, according to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.
