Student Art Show in Pierce Jan. 12

You'll want to make your plans now to attend the opening evening, "A Sesquicentennial Soiree," at Timberline High Schoolís 4th Student Art Show. This year there are 19 artists from grades nine to 12 that are involved.

It's hard to imagine anything for the opening evening except a banner year of entries; some artists are even including the sesquicentennial theme of the Pierce gold rush.

Three of the seniors entering their pieces are not   newcomers to the high school art scene. They have slowly built a following of town admirers.

The Show will open Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Studio 205, Main Street in Pierce. The venue will only contain the work of the student artists. The show will be sporting every thing from pencil drawings, paintings, metalwork, woodworking, leatherwork, photography, pen and ink, poetry and mixed media.

The gallery will open from 4-8 p.m. the first evening with food, drink and friendly conversation. Judy O'Brien, from the Clearwater Tribune, will be present to interview each of the student artists and you will also have this chance to greet the students and give them and encouraging word.

Please feel free to bring children of all ages. What a perfect opportunity to encourage the artist in them. The show will continue on Thursday, Jan. 12 through Saturday, Jan. 14, with the Studio open from 11 a.m to 6 pm these days.

The artists participating this year are Amanda Ahart, Jordan Ahart, Brittney Berreth, Dylan Anderson, Austin Blain, Casey Cooper, Asia Eastman, Dustin Hodges, Aspen Jared, Kendrick Jared, Jake Jared, Austin Johnson, Christen LaLonde, Schreline McIntosh, Dan Raymond, Matthew Stebbins, Tarra Watson, Shannon Williams and Kristina Vancorbach.

Come in from the cold and enjoy this up-close-and personal event.
