Back to School Supplies Contest Aug. 5-20

   Dr. Hartshorn, at the Orofino Spine Center, is holding a one-page essay contest, and the writer of the winning essay will receive a new backpack, binders, paper and pens and other goodies to help get you started for the new school year. The essay is to be one page long on: Why you think education is important. Entries can be dropped off at the Orofino Spine Center during regular clinic hours or mailed to P.O. Box 1328 Orofino, ID 83544. Please include your name and phone number so that the winning entry can be notified. The winner will also have their name published in the Clearwater Tribune. Dr. Hartshorn and his staff wish all participants the best of luck.

Timberline Schools registration

   New students, K-12, can register Monday, Aug. 16 from 9-11:30 a.m. and from 1-3 p.m. Please bring immunization record and a copy of birth certificate.

   Seniors – Tuesday, Aug. 17, 9 -11:30 a.m.

   Juniors - Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1 – 3 p.m.

   Sophomores – Wednesday, Aug. 18, 9 -11:30 a.m.

   All school fees, lunch tickets and sport fees can be paid at this time.  Sixth grade through 12th grade students in fall sports need to have a current sports physical on file to start practice.  If the student had a sports physical last year, it is still good for this year, unless student is going to be a freshman this year.

Orofino Elementary School supply lists

Mrs. Naden’s Kindergarten orientation

   Mrs. Naden’s incoming kindergarten students and parents are invited to an orientation Thursday, Aug. 19. Morning students will meet Mrs. Naden in the trailer next to the school between 4:30-5:50 p.m. and afternoon students meet between 5:30-6:30 p.m.

   Students may bring school supplies, (which were listed in last week’s Clearwater Tribune), and look around the room.

   At 5:30 p.m. everyone may attend the ice cream social.

   If anyone is unable to attend please call the Orofino Elementary School office at 476-4212 to arrange a meeting. The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 23.

OES Meet and Greet Aug. 19

   Please plan to attend the Meet and Greet Ice Cream Social at Orofino Elementary on Thursday, August 19 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. During this time your child will visit their classroom to meet their teacher. Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies to be left in their classroom. 

   Free ice cream sundaes will be provided for students and their families. The ladies from the kitchen will be accepting money for lunches in the front foyer. Mini-maniac t-shirts will be available to be ordered.

   Orofino Junior Senior High School registration for 7th-12th grades will begin on Aug. 16. The schedule is as follows:

   Seniors – Monday, Aug. 16, 1-3 p.m.

   Juniors – Tuesday, Aug. 17, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

   Sophomores – Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1-3 p.m.

   Freshmen – Wednesday, Aug. 18, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

   8th grade – Wednesday, Aug. 17, 1-3 p.m.

   7th grade - Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1-3 p.m.

   New students to the district will register on Thursday, Aug. 19, 1-3 p.m.

   The following list is what students will need if taking a particular class and the fees:

   Activity card (ASB) - $30, with tax $31.80, good for the whole year, will get you into any home games and school plays.
